Please ensure no Dog Hairs are left in the Camper. If your Dog sheds excessively, we may request a full Valet.

Can we smoke in the camper?

No. Smoking inside the Campervan is strictly forbidden. Smoke smell is almost impossible to remove from a vehicle, and it is not fair on other travellers. If there is a smell of cigarettes on return, we may have to get a professional valet done at your expense.

Outdoor smoke smells from campfires, for example, are acceptable and not a problem.

Yes, both winter sports and mountain travel are allowed. In the winter, we will swap the wheels to Winter Tyres and Steel wheels.

We can also supply Snow Chains. Please ask us about this, as we will need to ensure you are knowledgeable and confident to fit and use them.

Can I take the camper to festivals?

Yes, we all love a good festival - please talk to us if you plan to attend a festival, as some have special requirements for entry.

If our Summer Wheels (Low Profile Alloys) are on the van, we can switch them to the Winter Wheels, as this will be more suitable for Grass/Mud situations typically found at Festivals.

Letting us know that you're going to a Festival allows us to prepare for more intense cleaning on return.

What is the minimum age to hire the camper?

You must be at least 21 years old to hire the camper. There may be other requirements based on your driving status. Please run through the booking process to get a full insurance quote.

International Drivers?

If you are not from the UK, you will need to ensure your Drivers Licence is Valid here.

To check this, please visit the DVLA Website and complete the simple Questionnaire:

DVLA Non-UK License Questionnaire

We will require a copy of your Driving Licence and any other relevant Documents before confirming your booking.

You will be able to Upload these documents when you go through the booking process.

Insurance - how does this work?

Insuring the Vehicle

Comprehensive Insurance is provided by us via an Independent Insurance Broker, InsureCarHire.co.uk - this allow us to offer you personalized cover that matches your specific needs. Many companies include insurance by raising prices to cover all customers equally, raising the cost to those who may otherwise have paid less. Our approach ensures fair pricing tailored to you.

The cost of the Insurance is paid by you, depending on your driving history & license status. You can Request A Quote through our provider, InsureCarHire.co.uk.

We also recommend adding Optional Excess Protection

The documents below are provided as guides only and are not legally binding. Please review the official insurance documents provided by the insurer at the time of hire:

Insurance Summary
Insurance Product Information Document (IPID)
First Fleet Policy Wording (Jan 2020)
How should the camper be returned?

Please return the camper how you would like to find it:

A full tank of diesel

An empty gray water tank

The interior clean and tidy, with pet hair removed

A spotless toilet

Optional external wash (no penalty if dirty)*

*Use a contactless car wash only—no AutoCar Wash or Jetwash Brush. It's better to return it dirty than scratched!

What fees might be deducted from the deposit?

We understand accidents and things happen while out on the road, we will always be understanding of this and try to avoid applying fees.

However, please help us by looking after the Camper, particularly considering any travellers who may be next in line or may cause us extra effort to prepare for the next hire.

Possible fees include:

Smoke smell: £50

Excessive pet hair: £15

Unclean toilet: £25

Low fuel: top-up cost + £5

Stains/breakages: Variable cost based on cleaning or repair

What if damage occurs during my trip?

The most important thing is to tell us *immediately (WhatsApp 24/7)* - so that we can order replacement parts or organise repairs in time for the next traveller.

But don't worry! We understand accidents happen, and we typically won't charge for accidental damage to interior items. We'll always discuss any issues before deducting fees. Your fun is our priority!

We also understand that normal driving can cause damage, such as "stone chips" - these will not be charged against deposits.

More serious damage that requires repairs may be deducted from your deposit or claimed against the insurance. This will be handled on a case-by-case basis, and we will discuss everything with you before making deductions or claims.

For more information about damage, please refer to the Hire Agreement and/or Insurance Documents.

What if we breakdown?

In the highly unlikely event you break down, you are covered by RAC Breakdown Recovery. They use a network of mobile mechanics, both as part of the RAC and affiliated garage services.

Firstly, let us know immediately if you suspect an issue. Often, we can guide you through it.

We may instruct you to call the RAC service or take the vehicle to a local repair center, provided the vehicle is safe and drivable.

If you incur any garage fees on your travels, these will be reimbursed or paid directly to the garage by us, provided there is no reason to deduct from the deposit or claim from insurance. Any work & costs must be authorised by us before commencing.

As with any holiday, we highly recommend taking out sufficient travel insurance, in case of unforseen disuptions to your trip. As a small independent business, We do not have instant access to replacement vehicles, but we do have partners who also hire vans, so we will do our absolute best to keep you on the road.

We hired the van for 3 nights to go to Galloway forest park to watch the Perseid meteor shower. Colin was a helpful and friendly host. He went the extra mile to meet us at a convenient location. The van was lovely to drive and felt like driving a car even on single track roads. It was very clean and had everything we needed for our trip (to cook and dine). Good storage so we could bring everything we needed and our greyhound (who loved it!). Smooth handover and Colin even had good recommendations for the rest of our day. Would highly recommend!!!

I had the absolute pleasure of renting a campervan from Colin. From the very start, he was very helpful and communicative. The campervan itself was well-equipped, and perfectly maintained. He provided a thorough walkthrough of the van and gave excellent advice on the best local spots to visit. I'll definitely be booking again!

We found that the van was the ideal size for us on the small roads of Harris and Skye. There was plenty of room for the two of us in the back and the bed was surprisingly comfy. The wee kitchen was fine for a simple meal or tea/coffee. Colin was very good with communication and even dropped the van off with us on the day of departure (we live fairly locally). If you are over 6 foot tall you may find the driving position a bit cramped as the seat doesn't go all the way back due to the kitchen worktop. It was OK for me at 5' 10" (1.8m), but taller people might want more leg room.

We couldn't have been happier with our experience both with Colin and with Kokoro the van. Colin was fantastic- relaxed, responsive, and accommodating- what a great guy. He even gave us a long ride to the train station after the we returned the van. The van was great- just what we needed! She was compact enough to feel comfortable driving the windy single track roads of the highlands, but still with all the basic amenities to spend 8 days on the road in ease. All in all, what an incredible experience. Highly recommend! Thanks, Colin!

The van was perfect for our trip! Very clean and we had the equipment required to cook in the evenings. The van felt very cosy and when I did some solo traveling, I felt very safe inside at night! Colin was very responsive before and during our trip and arranged pick up/drop off in the most convenient places for us, which we were very grateful for! We'd definitely hire again and have recommended to our friends! Thanks so much Colin! 😊.

Without a doubt 5 stars. Colin was brilliant, happy to answer any questions we had and was extremely laid back. Camper was amazing, all the accessories - stove, tap, etc. worked perfectly without any issues at all and were very easy to operate. Bed was a brilliant size, big enough for my partner, our large dog, and I to fit in snug. Will definitely be back!

From the very beginning, as I first researched camper vans in Scotland, Colin was extremely engaging and helpful. It was a first for us and our adventure was made so much smoother by Colin's advice and recommendations. The camper van itself was clean, tidy, and comfortable. We were able to do so many things we wanted to do, from seeing the cities (Edinburgh and Glasgow) to climbing Ben Nevis. We even got engaged! 💍 so Kokoro Shinro will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you Colin! 😁.

Lovely Campervan. Fantastic host. Friendly and helpful. Lots of local recommendations for things to do. Van was great for a couple of nights wild camping on the Fife Coast. Great size for getting around the small villages but also spacious enough to be comfortable!

The handover went smoothly and uncomplicated, we agreed on an individual meeting point with Colin. We were on the road with the camper for around 10 days and visited Scotland and the Isle of Skye. The bus is small but nice and offers enough space for two adults. It was very comfortable and we didn't miss anything. All daily necessities were on board.

amazing long weekend on Isle of Skye with Kokoro Shinro. Colin is an amazing owner, absolutely friendly and helpful, he was super flexible with pick-up and drop-off. The van is well equipped and comfy, it was quite cold outside so we used the heating, but it warms up the van real quick so we just turned it on for short periods. In short, an amazing experience with Kokoro and Colin, highly recommended!
